North: A Christmas Story, is an intimate and authentic telling of the origins of contemporary Santa Claus mythology.  This thoroughly-researched and unifying tale brings together folklore and legend from across the globe into a small arctic town where it all appears to make perfect sense.

Anya Berg (the boldly unconventional and independent daughter of famed world explorer, Archer Berg) faces a wondrous, tragic, and eye-opening experience while accompanying her father’s pioneering 1886 expedition to the North Pole.  Chaos strikes suddenly and Anya comes to awaken, alone amidst strangers, in a peculiar and ancient town called North.

The adventure that follows Anya’s distressing arrival in this arctic oasis is one that impacts her to her very core.  She discovers incredible secrets in North, but also finds some unfortunate similarities between this new society and that of her Victorian London home.  Trapped in this quaint and snowy town, it takes a long time for Anya to overcome her sadness and desperation and discover a new path for her future.

The story of North is a story of hard-earned realizations, reaching one’s unexpected potential, and the uncanny power of love to make us do all manner of stupid things.  After all, at it’s heart, North is a love story.  It is also a story of standing up for what is most important to us, whatever the cost.  It is a year in the life of Anya Berg – a glimpse into life in the mysterious town of North – and it is a tale of great adventure.

Beyond the story itself, North combines folklore and mythology spanning Norway, China, the UK, Russia, the USA, and much more.  It presents re-imaginings of age-old figures close to the Santa Claus mythology (such as Krampus and Ruprecht), as well as more recent additions to the legend (such as Rudolph and Santa’s workshop), and integrates unprecedented and original additions to the legend that will be new to everyone.

The truth is, there’s much more going on in the town of North than Anya Berg would have ever expected – and it’s not what you think.
